Making A Claim on Your Car Insurance Policy

Unfortunately, it happens to the best of us. A small dent in the side of our car, or a larger smash to the rear fender. Sometimes when we get behind the wheel, we are just not as focused as we should be, and it is for these situations that we all rely on car insurance. In the case of a situation such as the two described above, car insurance pays for the damage done to the paintwork, architecture, or any other factor involved in your car. So, how do we submit a claim, and what should we do to ensure the claims process is as smooth and easy as possible?

Firstly, as soon as the accident occurs, take a picture. You can do this with your camera phone (if you have one), or simply ask someone else to take one and email it through to you. The chances of getting a payout on your insurance will increase substantially if you have graphic proof of the damage done. Another great idea is to ring your insurance company the same day that the accident occurs. Leaving it for next week or even next month will certainly not help you to get the cash and have the damage repaired.
