The Different Types of Car Insurance
There are many different types of car insurance, ranging from the most comprehensive cover with no excess, to what is called “third party” car insurance. Whilst the idea behind most of these policies is the same, the costs for each will fluctuate wildly. In this article, we will discuss these varying prices, and see if the top policies are really worth the extra cash.
For those of you who are unaware of what third party car insurance is, basically it’s a policy you take out to cover the cost of the other persons car, should you cause any unintentional damage to it whilst you are driving. We all know the situation well, where we pull in to the parking garage, go to reverse into the seemingly large space, and then find that we underestimated the gap that would be required. In this case, “third party” car insurance would cover the cost of the ding to the other car, but not your own. Of course, if you would rather not pay for anything in this situation, the most comprehensive option - no excess and no claim limit, would be the one I recommend for you to investigate.
